In response to a request from the U.S. Congress several years ago, the U.S. Justice Department issued a report relative to immigration and international marriage issues that stated "it would appear" that marriages between U.S. citizens and foreign nationals "would tend to last longer" than that of domestic marriages on the whole. There may be numerous reasons for this - if this high-level research is accurate.
